Skydance New Media has announced that the highly anticipated Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will no longer be released in 2025, but will instead be released in early 2026, which is winter 1404 or spring 1405. “Having more time allows us to deliver a higher quality, more polished experience that aligns with our creative vision,” the developers said. “We have exciting things coming up and can’t wait to share them with you soon.”

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was first announced in 2021, and from the very beginning, it captured the attention of Marvel fans with its strong creative team and story-driven approach. Uncharted series creator Amy Henning is developing the project in collaboration with Skydance Studios.

The game is set during World War II, when Captain America and Black Panther are forced to team up to fight the threat of Hydra. However, this alliance is by no means without tension and challenges. Alongside the two familiar heroes, players will also take control of Gabriel Jones, a member of the Howling Commandos, and Nunnally, a Wakandan spy based in occupied Paris.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra features the voice cast of Drew Morline as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Carrie Payton as Azuri/Black Panther, Mark Richardson as Gabriel Jones, Megalyn Echikunwoke as Nunnally, and Joel Johnston as Howard Stark.

The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. It uses the MetaHuman Animator tool to create realistic facial animations, a tool that has previously been used in film and TV projects.

Marvel 1943 is just one of several major Marvel video game projects. Arkane Lyon is working on Blade, and Electronic Arts is working on titles centered around Iron Man and Black Panther, which are mysterious projects yet to be officially announced.
